WILLIAM (BILL) JOSEPH SANTANELLO, JR.

William (Bill) Joseph Santanello, Jr., 81, entered peacefully into eternal life on Saturday, March 9, 2019. Born June 13, 1937 in Meadville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William Joseph Santanello, Sr. and Frances (Johns) Santanello.

Bill had a successful 30+ year financial and administrative career with the IBM Corporation. He leveraged the skills developed during this career to serve the local community in many volunteer capacities. Bill served for ten years on the Sun Valley East (SVE) Board of Directors in various roles including President, Vice President, and Secretary working diligently to preserve the significant character of the SVE community. He was a member of the Women’s Circle Governing Board, a non-profit organization which provides job training and support services for women from lower socio-economic backgrounds. In NY, Bill volunteered to prepare tax returns for members of the Bayside Senior Citizen Center (something he also did without fanfare in the Boynton Beach community). These are just a few examples of the charitable and philanthropic work he performed for the wider South Florida/NY communities.

Bill was an avid freshwater fisherman his entire life. He enjoyed weekly card games of Canasta and Poker. He was passionate about cruises, particularly to the Caribbean. Bill loved singing with the “Music-Pals” at local FL nursing homes.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Virginia; seven children raised with Marlene Santanello; daughter Ann (Evelio) Bofill, daughter Lisa (Timothy) Paradiso, son William (Elizabeth) Santanello, daughter Michelle (Michael) Meyers, daughter Mary (Michael) Caroselli, daughter Stephanie (Brian) Perry, and son Paul (Michael) Santanello; brother Robert (Doris) Santanello. Bill was blessed with fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many other loving relatives.
