Wayne Dubois

Wayne DuBois, 79, of Boynton Beach, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018. Wayne was born in West Palm Beach, FL on March 31, 1939 to pioneer farmers Herbert and Willie Lee DuBois, who had previously moved to Florida from Oklahoma two years prior along with Wayne’s uncles, Bill and Henry. As Wayne grew up, he followed in his family’s footsteps and continued the family farming business. In 1960, Wayne married Sherry George, of Lake Worth, FL. Not long after they were married, Wayne purchased 20-acres of land to farm and later joined a partnership, with his uncle, Bill DuBois, and cousins Billy and Bobby DuBois, forming DuBois Farms, Inc. Wayne and Sherry went on to have three sons, Brett, Mark and Monte. As the family grew, so did Wayne’s farming business. 20 acres soon became thousands of acres and he and his sons formed their own farming entity, DuBois Growers, Inc., a massive-producer of vegetables in Palm Beach County with over 500 employees. Wayne was an avid outdoorsmen, he loved hunting and fishing. He was also a devoted Christian. He loved the Lord and was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Lake Worth for over a decade. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert DuBois in 1987, and Willie Lee DuBois in 1989. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sherry DuBois; his sister, Joann Scramlin (Jim); brother-in-law, Steve George (Helen); his sons Brett (Susan), Mark DuBois (Kathy), Monte DuBois (Kelly); eight grandchildren, Christie (Matt), Courtney, Lauren, Katie, Mark Jr., Karrie (Ben), Lexi and Monte Jr.; and one great-grandchild; Gracelyn. Friends will be received Wed., Dec.12, 2018, 6 to 8 p.m. at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of U.S. Hwy. #1 & N.E. 15th Ave., Boynton Beach. The Funeral Service to honor Wayne DuBois will be held Thurs., Dec. 13, 2018, 10 a.m., at First Baptist Church, corner of Boynton Beach Blvd. & Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach. A Committal Service will immediately follow at the Boynton Beach Memorial Park where Wayne will be laid to rest.
