In Loving Memory of Elwyn Wayne Drew

Wayne Drew, affectionately known as Bud, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the age of 91 in Tequesta, Florida. Born in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, Wayne was a proud graduate of Farmington High School, where he excelled as a track star and notable athlete.

Wayne’s dedication to his country was evident through his service in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1954, where he served with distinction as a Recon Marine Sergeant in an elite unit. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found several successful engineering companies, including Goldcoast Engineering & Testing, A.I.M. Engineering & Research, and Allterra Engineering & Testing, leaving a lasting impact on the geotechnical industry.

In 1999, Wayne retired to pursue his passion for breeding and racing greyhounds, even producing a nationally known champion. A committed community member, he coached Little League in Boynton Beach for over a decade and was a devoted member of Gateway Community Church, later attending the Church in the Farms after moving to the Jupiter/Tequesta area.

Wayne’s warmth, generosity, and devotion as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather touched the lives of all who knew him. He is survived by his daughters, Darcel and Daphne Drew; sons, Dartland (Justine) Drew, Ron (Bonnie) Willett, and Robert Vincent Drew; eight grandchildren, Daemon D. (Jasmine) Drew and Tyler Drew of Palm Beach County, Dylan and Conner Willett, Rhonin and Toryn Mitchell, and Hannah and Sam Cribbs of Orange County; and his great-grandsons, Dillon Carl Drew and Reid Lopez of Palm

Beach County. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Walter Drew (2011) and Marjorie Chute Coty (1997); his brothers, Rainsford Robert Drew (1993) and James Drew (2022); his son, Daryl Earl Drew (2020); his grandsons, Daemon Wayne Drew (1994) and Dillon Cory Drew (2020); and his beloved wife, Carol (2023).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Gateway Community Church in Wayne’s memory.

Wayne’s legacy of love, service, and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
