W. Allen Poston, age 73 of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away on August 7, 2023.

Allen was born on November 8, 1949 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He was raised in North Miami Beach and then moved to Gainesville, Florida graduating with a degree in building construction from the University of Florida. He then moved to Delray Beach and began his 46 year career at Hardrives Paving, Inc, and retired in 2019 to spend time with his family. He was involved in several organizations within the industry in which he worked including the Executives of the Palm Beaches, Delray Chamber of Commerce, and the Association of General Contractors (AGC).

Allen was a strong man of faith. He surrendered his life to Jesus at a young age and he served and followed Him all of his life. His relationship with the Lord sustained and comforted him through the last 2 years of his battle with cancer.

Second to his love of God was the love for his family. He provided for them and taught them what it was meant to be loved and cared for.

He loved golf, fishing, camping, woodworking, and he would never turn down a bowl of vanilla ice cream.

Allen is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 46 years, Rethea, their three daughters and son-in-laws; Lindsey (Scott) Diley, Britney (Jason) Cooper, and Courtney (Tom) Anello; adoring grandchildren Mace, Nora, Makayla, and Micah; his sister Vivian Whitman-Tetzel, and his brother, Ira (Kim) Poston. Allen was predeceased by his father John Allen Poston and his mother Thelma Leona Poston.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, August 12 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Boynton Beach, 301 North Seacrest Blvd, Boynton Beach, FL 33435. There will be open visitation starting at 9:30 am with the service to follow.
