UNA M. MEEHAN
Age 87 of Boynton Beach, formerly of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 with her family by her side.
Una was born on April 21, 1931 in Moyfadda, County Clare, Ireland to the late Michael McNamara and Susan Clancy McNamara. The youngest of seven sisters and twin brothers. She went to nursing school in England before heading to New York City where she met her future husband Felix Meehan. Moving from Queens, NY to North Kingstown, RI. After retiring to Boynton Beach, they found new friends, sunshine and a lovely life at Sterling Village. She was an avid card player, loved to dance, listen to Irish music and was very active in the Sterling Village Community. Una was a faithful parishioner of St. Mark Catholic Church of Boynton Beach.
Una was preceded in death by her husband, Felix and 7 of her siblings. She is survived by her 5 children and their spouses, Patrick & Kathy Meehan, Brian & Karla Meehan, Terence Meehan, daughter-in-law, Dana Meehan, Eamonn Meehan and Una & Ethan Simmons; 10 grandchildren, Eric, Amy & Matthew Meehan, Kristian, Riley & Zachary Meehan, Emily Meehan, Tess, Chelsea & Katelin Simmons; 7 great grandchildren, Aiden Chauvette, Ellie, Audrey, Gwen & Lexi Meehan, Bradley & Sophia; 2 sisters, Mary Brunsden and Jane McNamara.
Friends will be received Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 2-5 pm at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of U.S. Hwy. 1 & N.E. 15th Ave., Boynton Beach. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 11 am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 643 St. Mark Place, Boynton Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark Catholic Church in Una’s memory.
