THEODORE R. “TED” WRIGHT
Age 85 of Lake Worth passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014.
Ted was born on December 18, 1928 in Lynn Haven, Florida to the late William and Eusa Wright and was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Edith in 2010. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, Life Member and Commander (for 10 years) of V.F.W. Boynton Beach Post #5335. In Ted’s early years he had many occupations such as Fireman, tree surgeon, first disc jockey in Thomasville, Georgia, truck driver, chauffeur and administrator.
Ted is survived by his 4 children and their spouses, John E. & Liza Wright, Cynthia A. & Mike Ward, Richard M. & Patricia Wright and Linda E. & Tim Bowen; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and his girlfriend, Becky Sommers.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Avenue, Boynton Beach. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 at the funeral home. Committal Services with Military Honors will follow at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth. Those who wish may make donations to the V.F.W. Post #5335, 501 S.E. 21st Ave., Boynton Beach, FL 33435 in Ted’s memory.
