Steve Stefinsky, age 66, passed away peacefully at his home on August 16 with his wife, daughter, and son by his side. Steve was born on October 4, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Stephanie and Nick Stefinsky. Having endured his share of Illinois winters, Steve moved with his family to Boynton Beach at the age of 35.
Steve is survived by his wife of 41 years, Michelle, loving and caring children Kristie and Robert (Katy) Stefinsky, two older brothers Nick (Donna) Stefinsky and Joe (Donna) Stefinsky, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Steve was a creator, artist, and modern day MacGyver in all aspects of his life. For over 9 years he owned an upholstery business where he was known for his custom, detail oriented design work on classic cars. A skilled and reliable mechanic for over 40 years, Steve helped his daughter restore her first car, an 85 Camaro, and was always helping friends and family with their vehicles. When not spending time in the garage, Steve loved to fish and could be seen casting a line at the Boynton Beach Inlet or any available watercraft.
More important than his reputation as a skilled craftsman, Steve was known as a loving husband, supportive father, and giving friend. Steve was a man of courtesy and patience, always helping someone or offering his time for a project. Steve’s generous heart was known wherever he went and garnered the love and respect of many.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, August 27, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home located at 599 NE 15th Ave, Boynton Beach, FL 33435.
