SHERYON ANN LaTOUR
Age 68 of Boynton Beach passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 with her family by her side after a lengthy and courageous battle of various illnesses due to diabetes.
Sheryon was born May 18, 1949 in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late Edward Earl Thomas and Marie Thibeault Thomas. After graduating from North High School in Worcester in 1968, she married Vincent D. LaTour on August 31, 1968. Their only child, Jamie was born in 1970 and in 1973, she and her family moved to Florida. Sheryon was a parishioner of St. Mark Catholic Church in Boynton Beach where she also volunteered for many years for St. Mark Bingo. She, along with Vincent and Jamie, were also very active in the Boy Scouts, Troops 202 and 322 and Pack 280. Sheryon retired from Bethesda Memorial Hospital after 30 years of dedicated employment.
She is survived by her loving husband of almost 49 years, Vincent; her beloved son, Jamie and his wife, Irene; her 3 adored grandchildren, David, Melissa (Chris Ramos) and Kayla; and her cherished great grandson, Aiden Ramos. Sheryon loved and was much loved by her siblings, Nancy Garrahie, Linda Crosland (Roosevelt), Betty Ann Reed (Andrew), John Thomas and Richard Thomas (Pauline). She is also survived by her niece, Renee Sawyer (Buzz), who was like an adopted daughter and many other loving cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Friends will be received Friday, September 1, 2017 from 5 -7 PM at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of U.S. Hwy. #1 & N.E. 15th Ave., Boynton Beach. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, 643 St. Mark Place, Boynton Beach. Sheryon will be laid to rest at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth at a later date.
