Sharon Kaye Melear was born on December 13, 1959, in Rockledge, FL, to Martin and Patricia Neiswander. The family eventually settled in Miami Lakes, FL. Upon graduating from Hialeah-Miami Lakes High School in 1977, Sherry attended Florida State University, where she graduated with an MIS degree in 1981. After graduation, she moved to West Palm Beach, where she worked for an accounting firm. During this time, she met the love of her life, Richard Melear. They quickly fell in love and were married 18 months later. Sherry and Rick remained faithfully and happily married for 41 years.

Two years after they married, they welcomed their first daughter, Megan, followed by a son, Kyle, and their youngest daughter, Leah. For 14 years, Sherry was a stay-at-home mom, pouring her love into her children. Her greatest joy was raising them and teaching them to love the Lord. Sherry had a tremendous impact on young people, and her home was a refuge for all. She was known to shower others with her generosity while guiding them with her faith in the Lord. She spent many of her days deep in God’s Word, praying for others.

On December 16, 2024, the Lord called Sherry home. She leaves behind her husband, Rick; her daughter Megan Summerville (Mark); her son Kyle Melear (Erin); and her daughter Leah Carew (Nick). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Luke, Addison, and Noah Summerville; Grayson and Graham Melear; and Levi Carew. She is further survived by her parents, Martin and Patricia Neiswander; her sister Kathy Campbell; her brother Curtis Neiswander; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. While she will be missed by many, we find comfort in knowing that she is in the arms of Jesus.

All are welcome to celebrate Sherry’s life on January 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Immanuel Bible Church, 17475 Jonathan Dr., Jupiter, FL 33477.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Samaritan’s Purse at www.samaritanspurse.org or to First Care Women’s Clinic www.firstcareforlife.com .
