Sal Gomez of Boynton Beach, Florida departed this world on April 28, 2025, at TrustBridge Hospice in Delray Beach, Florida, at the age of 93. Born on July 13, 1931, in Cuba, Sal lived a life rooted in faith, family, and an enduring passion for the simple joys of life.

Sal was the beloved son of Salvador and Teresa Gomez and spent his formative years attending Hermanos de La Salle in Cuba, where he nurtured a foundation of values and education. Following his journey to the United States, Sal dedicated himself to his work as a foreman at US Metals, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues through his diligence and integrity.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Sal found great pleasure in collecting stamps, a hobby that brought him countless hours of joy and reflection. His love extended to his cherished canine companions, Spanky and Fei Fei, who were his faithful friends and constant sources of comfort.

A devout member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Sal was unwavering in his commitment to his faith. After the passing of his beloved wife, Marjorie, in 2014, Sal found solace and strength in his relationship with the church and his devotion to God, deepening his spiritual journey in the years that followed.

He is survived by her sister-in-law, Ofelia Morgan, and brother-in-law, Juan Ramon Pineiro;

and numerous nieces and nephews and all those who held him dear, and he will be profoundly missed by everyone whose lives he touched.

Sal leaves behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and love—a life well-lived and deeply cherished. His memory will be carried in the hearts of all who knew him.

To honor Sal and his late wife, Marjorie, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, June 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10935 South Military Trail, Boynton Beach. A Committal Service will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach.

Marjorie Gomez, age 76 of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away on June 23, 2014, at TrustBridge Hospice in Boynton Beach, Florida. A remarkable individual whose life was a testament to resilience, creativity, and dedication. Born on September 6, 1937, in Cuba, Marjorie left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew her.

Marjorie was the beloved daughter of Secundino and Sophia Pineiro. As a child, she attended Colegio Teresiano in Cuba, where her bright spirit began to shine. Her early years were marked by an insatiable curiosity for learning and a natural talent for the arts. A gifted fine artist, Marjorie worked primarily with oils but also explored watercolor and created intricate handcrafted three-dimensional art pieces, leaving behind a legacy of beauty and creativity.

At the young age of 18, Marjorie embarked on a career as an elementary school teacher in Cuba, following her education at the Normal School. Her passion for education and her commitment to fostering the potential of young minds became a defining aspect of her life.

Marjorie’s journey took a pivotal turn when she immigrated to Elizabeth, New Jersey, in search of a brighter future. Despite the challenges of starting anew, she persevered, attending night school to earn her degree in the United States. She went on to become a cherished ESL teacher in New Jersey schools, impacting countless lives with her patience, kindness, and dedication until her retirement in 2000.

Marjorie shared a beautiful life with her husband, Sal, whom she married in Cuba on December 16, 1960. Together, they navigated the challenges of exile from their homeland in the mid-1960s. Despite the hardships, they embraced their new life in the United States with gratitude and became proud and patriotic citizens.

Marjorie will be remembered for her warmth, her artistic spirit, and her unwavering devotion to her family, students, and community. She exemplified grace and perseverance in every chapter of her life, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire.

She is survived by her sister, Ofelia Morgan, and brother, Juan Ramon Piñeiro, and numerous nieces and nephews and all those who held her dear, and she will be profoundly missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
