Roy Delancy Newball Cayasso was born on January 1st, 1931 in Pearl Lagoon, Nicaragua. He was the only child born to Mrs. Claribel Cayasso and Lenward Newball. He grew up between Setnet Point, Pearl Lagoon, and Bluefields, east coast of Nicaragua. He enjoyed his childhood. Between school and his jobs on the seas (he was a boatman and loved the oceans), he grew to be a respectable, hardworking, loving and honest man. In addition, he learned to weld and worked as a professional welder for several major companies in the country. He would later use these experiences to create a wonderful and united family.
He met the love of his life, Jenny Elizabeth Hebbert in 1953, and married her on August 22, 1954. They were married for 67 years.
Mr. Roy (lovingly nicknamed ROPA) Newball is survived by his “Rock of Ages” wife: Jenny. Daughter Naila. Sons Steve, Gilroy, and Lenward and their respected wives: Rebecca, Lilliana, and Martha, 12 grand-children and 3 great-grand-children.
Mr. Roy developed a special relationship with his youngest brother-in-law, Jason Hebbert, with whom he would spend long hours laughing as they discuss family and world-wide issues as he journeyed through his final and enjoyable days. “Excellent human being to be around every moment of the day”, said Jason.
John and Isadora Shelton are special pioneers that served in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua for a few years. Here is what they said about Roy: “He was a strong person with a loving heart, when the brothers needed to build a new Kingdom Hall, he was always ready to collaborate and see through the work. In addition, he opened the doors of his home for us to live in as long as we wanted too”. Also, during our days of meeting, he would say to Jenny, “Miss Jen hurry-up you’re going to get late to your meeting”. Last Saturday he called Jenny to remind her about the resurrection and to be aware that we will see him again in a complete different circumstance.
As you leave us with broken hearts, your memories and good deeds will abide with us until we see the fulfillment of eternal life on earth and Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will morning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
