It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Sauer, who left us on June 30, 2025, just weeks after celebrating his 100th birthday. Born on May 16, 1925 in Cleveland Ohio. Bob was a true centenarian, embodying a remarkable zest for life that touched everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his Beloved Wife, Dolores, and his deceased parents, Doris and Lester, his Aunt Janice, Uncle Clifford, his sisters Patsy, Lillian.

He is survived by his dear sister, Jean Zukowski, and her children – Dennis, Craig, Leslie and Lisa along with sister Patsy’s child Kevin Pearcy, Sister Lillian’s children – Dori & Evelyn

Bob is survived by his loving children, Lynn Gernon, Cheryl Brandvold, Holly Sauer, Robert Sauer Jr., and Deanne Heide – and their spouses Bruce Gernon, Charles Mount, Mary Prince, Alan Heide and their children – Keely Burton, Ashley Brandvold, Kirsten Maas. His great grandchildren – Reed Burton, Kali Burton, Bryce Maas, Reese Maas. His grandchildren thru marriage – Kayla Prince, Andrew Prince and Sarah Prince. There is an additional amount of family members, of which we are too many to mention.

A proud World War II veteran serving in the South Pacific in the Navy on LST (Landing Ship Tanks) as a Sargent and Marine Mechanic. Bob served his country with honor and courage, a testament to his unwavering spirit. After his military service, he married his beloved Wife on February 19th, 1948. Dolores and he had 5 children. He dedicated his life to his family, a working man, becoming a beloved father, brother, and grandfather. He was the quintessential family man, finding immense joy in every gathering, milestone, and quiet moment spent with loved ones.

In his younger years, growing up in Ohio, he loved ice skating and hunting, In 1962 he moved his family to South Florida, raising his children the Florida lifestyle, teaching them scuba diving, and water-skiing, on his boat. Bob's vibrant personality was infectious, and he embraced life with an enthusiasm that was truly admirable. He was a familiar face at the American Legion on the Saturday Karaoke nights, never shy to belt out a tune, and his moves on the dance floor were legendary. He found happiness and invigoration in riding his scooter to the Swimming Pool at the Leisureville Clubhouse. He enjoyed the thrill of visiting the casinos, always bringing a sparkle to his eye.

Work History: Bob was an owner of an Insurance and Real Estate Firm for over 65 years and taught Real Estate at Mary Mount College of Boca Raton, now Lynn University.

Hobbies: An avid golfer, boater, private pilot, Bob spent countless hours on the green, enjoying the camaraderie of the game as much as the sport itself. He boasted about his hole in one, that he achieved. He was a free Mason, and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Boca/Delray and was a Volunteer Sheriff for the Leisureville Community Association.

His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bob's laughter, his stories, and his boundless love for life will forever echo in the hearts of his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of joy, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to those he held dear.

A Committal Service with U.S. Navy Military Honors will be held Friday, July 11th, 2025 at 10:30am (line up in Lane 1) at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449.
