A resident of Sausalito Place in Boynton Beach, FL died peacefully at J.F.K. Hospital on January 5, 2019 surrounded by family.
Mr. Manente was born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 16, 1934, the son of the late Salvatore and Elizabeth Manente. He attended local schools in Niagara Falls graduating from Niagara Falls High School in 1952 and from the University of Buffalo in 1958 with a degree in Engineering. He was married to the former Dianne Rice at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on May 30, 1959.
In 1958, Mr. Manente began his engineering career at ACF Industries in Albuquerque, NM. In 1960, he joined the IBM Corporation as a Software Engineer in Poughkeepsie, NY. He transferred to Boca Raton, FL in 1972. He retired from IBM in 1989 and then joined the Motorola Corporation in 1990 as a Senior Software Engineering Manager until his retirement in 1995.
Mr. Manente joined the Air National Guard at Niagara Air Base in 1952. He was honorably discharged from his from his military service in 1961.
Mr. Manente is survived by his daughter, Michelle Tucker and her husband Jeffrey of Boca Raton, FL; son-in-law, Scott Joslin of Ponte Vedra, FL. He was predeceased by his wife Dianne R. Manente, his daughter Maria Joslin Manente, his son Martin R. Manente and his brother Dr. Anthony J. Manente. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Dustin Tucker, Cole Tucker, Dylan Tucker, Summer Tucker, Samantha Joslin and Sara Joslin.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 18, 2019 at 10:30 AM at St. Matthew Catholic Church 6090 Hypoluxo Road, Lake Worth, FL 33463 followed by burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
