Robert Joseph Desouza

Robert Joseph DeSouza, 92, passed away on Thursday, May 14th. Robert was born in Brooklyn, NY, on June 16, 1927. Growing up, he had 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Robert served in the US Navy during WWll and continued to be very patriotic about his country throughout his life. In 1952, he married Gloria Rossi and they would have been celebrating their 68th wedding anniversary on May 23rd.
Robert worked as a Quality Control Sheet Metal Supervisor in Queens, NY and in later years in Rockland County, NY. He relaxed and enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Yankees and the Mets.
Robert is survived by his wife Gloria, daughter Linda (John), his son Ronald (Pat); grandchildren, Jay, Nick and Alex (Natalia); great-grandchildren, Alessia and Justin, all of whom he loved dearly.
Robert was predeceased in death by his sisters, Dorothy and Hilda, and brothers Alexander, Harold, Calvin, John, and James.
Due to COVID-19, a celebration of his life will be performed at a later date. All arrangements will be made by the Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home & Crematory. He will be buried in South Florida National Military Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida. Burial will be held on Thursday, May 21st.
