John Richard Lewis, Jr. "Richie", 62 years, died unexpectedly at his home in Boynton Beach, Florida. He was born January 13,1960, in Lakehurst, New Jersey, the son of John Richard and Janet Margeurite (Walsh) Lewis.
Richie had a passion for cooking and enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with friends and listening to music. He was a Giants, Ranger and Yankee fan and went to many games. He was very involved with his son's travel hockey and rarely missed a game. He was a member of the Elks in Bound Brook, NJ as well as Delray Beach, FL and active in fund-raising events.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Susan (Bernstein) Lewis, are his sons Richard Lewis and his wife Viviane (Torres) Lewis, Nicholas Lewis, one brother David Lewis, one sister Patricia Lewis, a grandson Lyon Lewis, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews and his son's mother, Donna Marabella, .
A Gathering will be held from 4pm to 5 pm with a service of remembrance to be held at 5 pm on Thursday, July 28 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, 599 NE 15th Avenue, Boynton Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Richie in a special way, may make donations in his memory to Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization, 7300 N. Federal Highway Suite 100, Boca Raton, FL 33487 or by visiting www.goldcoastdownsyndrome.org .
