RICHARD J. “Rick” SOMMERS
Age 74 of Lantana passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013. Rick was born July 25, 1939 in Syracuse, New York to John & Ruth Sommers.
He was a proud 10 year U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran, a member of V.F.W. Post 5335, Boynton Beach and a Tuna Fisherman based out of San Diego, California during his working years.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Becky; son, Richard Luke Sommers; step-son, Ralph (Angela) Bracegirdle; and 2 step-grandchildren, Brook & Gene Bracegirdle.
A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 11:30 AM at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Ave., Boynton Beach. The Committal Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at the South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to V.F.W. Post 5335, 500 N.E. 21st Ave., Boynton Beach, FL 33435 in Rick’s memory.
