Richard L. Maybay, 69, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away on October 5, 2024. Originally from Worcester, Massachusetts, Richard was a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend. His sudden departure leaves a profound sense of loss for all who knew him.
Richard was a skilled nuclear welder and proudly served in the United States Navy and continued service in the Merchant Marines, where his dedication and commitment were evident in all he did. His work ethic, integrity, and service were hallmarks of his life, and he brought these values to both his profession and personal relationships.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Nicole Maybay, and her husband, LTC Edward Harrison. Richard's family also includes his former spouse Laurie Maybay and his cherished siblings Jeanne Wickson (Paul), Claudette Gefvert, Roberta Rotolo, Arthur Maybay (Patti), Peter Maybay, and Gail Sigismondo (Mark). He was a devoted uncle to Chris, Tracie, Jen, Corey, Katie, Nicholas, Jennifer, Tony, Mike, Kelly, Lori, and David, who will all miss his presence deeply. Richard was predeceased by his father and mother Dr. Arthur and Harriet Maybay.
Richard enjoyed his retirement years in Boynton Beach, Florida, surrounded by sunshine and good friends, but his roots remained strong in Worcester, Massachusetts.
The Committal Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida, Lane #3.
