Rebecca Tate, 60, left us on September 11, 2018 in Boynton Beach, Florida.

Becky, as she was known by many, was born on February 20, 1958 in Palo Blanco, Durango, Mexico, to Julio and Juanita Garcia. Her father was an agricultural heavy equipment operator. Her mother was a homemaker. They moved to California in the 1970s with her sisters, Olga, Blanca, and Elida, and her two brothers, Jose and Julio.

She spent her childhood in the small town of Gomez-Palacio, Mexico where she was surrounded by her loving aunts and uncles. Becky spent her summers visiting her family in California. She studied International Business in Mexico City. While in college, on a school trip, she met her husband, Steve, in Tampico, Mexico. After dating for two years, they married on June 18, 1983 and later moved to Miami, Florida. They were married for 35 years.

They settled in Miami and started a family with the birth of their first child, Karen Danika Tate, in 1987. They would later welcome their second child in 1990, Sharon Janna Tate. The following year they welcomed their third child, Jonathan Steven Tate.

She was an active church member and America Red Cross volunteer. Becky also enjoyed helping others as a private caretaker for the elderly.

Her interests included: watching sports, especially watching the Miami Heat play, volunteering, coordinating and attending church events, reading, shopping, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Rebecca “Chita” Tate is survived by her beloved husband, Steve Tate, her three children, Danika, Janna, and Jonathan, her only grandson Elijah, her mother Juanita Garcia, her three sisters: Olga, Blanca, Elida, her two brothers: Jose and Julio, and her closest cousins, Azucena Noemi Lopez and Azteca Gandara Mijares, and several aunts and uncles.

Rebecca was the backbone of the Tate family, she was the most giving, caring and strongest independent women known. She was always be willing to give a helping hand to those around her.

Even though she leaves us on earth she is finally resting at peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Rebecca is gone but will never be forgotten, as we lay her to rest we share one of her favorite bible verses:

Psalms 28:7

“ The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.”

Salmo 28:7

“Jehova es mi fortaleza y mi escudo; En el confio mi corazón, y fui ayudado, Por lo que se gozo mi corazón, y con mi cántico le alabare."
