Rebecca Jean Williams Bracegirdle Sommers
Age 59 of Boynton Beach passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.
Born June 29, 1958 in Grand Junction, Colorado, she was the daughter of Gene and Betty Williams. She was raised in Carbondale, Colorado where she attended Roaring Fork High School. She enjoyed cheerleading and volleyball where she won a state championship in 1976. In 1986 Becky moved to Florida where it was a lot warmer. She began getting involved in helping veterans in South Florida. Her second home was the VFW Post 5335 where she became the President of the Ladies Auxiliary. There she was able to make one of the biggest impacts on the community. Between her 20 year career at Publix she still had time to serve thousands of veterans. Becky will be greatly missed but her presence will be forever.
She is survived by 2 sons, Ralph Bracegirdle and Richard Sommers; 2 grandchildren, Brooke and Gene Bracegirdle and sister, Bonnie Moore.
The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Ave., Boynton Beach with Chaplain Bill Bourke presiding. A Celebration of Life will follow at VFW Post 5335.
