RAYMOND THORVALD OSTERLUND
71 passed away January 17, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife Elva Osterlund who passed away last May. One of the last things he spoke of was going to heaven to see his wife and Jesus. Ironically the day he passed was Elva's birthday. Now they can be together again for eternity. Ray is survived by his son Paul Osterlund (Jill), his daughter Laura Brazel (Matt Selich) and his grandchildren Matthew Steinbauer, Taylor Brazel, and Bailey Brazel. Ray was a wonderful father, husband, friend and fisherman who will be missed terribly by everyone who knew and loved him.
Hello everyone,
It was a sad January 17th today. It would have been Mom's 71st
birthday and the first since her passing. Now it will also be
remembered as the day dad went to be with her. Bittersweet... true
love... whatever you want to call it, it was obvious that he didn't
want to live with out her. It's been a long year trying to encourage
him to be social, eat, move on and continue living but that wasn't
God's plan. We celebrate both of their lives and will remember all the
good times, Bahamas trips, birthdays, Christmases and many other
special occasions & memories.
The chaplain spoke fondly of her last conversation with dad and one of
her questions to him was who he's looking forward to seeing in heaven.
His response was, "My wife & Jesus - that's all that matters". We know
he was completely at peace before leaving us.
They both had their cremation prearranged and our family will spread
their ashes(now together) along the seashore as they requested. Thank
you all for being a part of "the story of their lives" and contributing
to the memories they shared.
God bless you all,
Paul
