RANDY AUGUST BEDERKA
Age 70 of Lantana passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015.
Randy was born on March 23, 1944 in Johnson City, New York to the late August Bederka and Olga Yankovich Bederka.
Randy graduated from Johnson City High School in 1962, excelling in football and gymnastics. He went on to graduate from Alfred State University in Alfred, New York as a Design Engineer. Randy began his career with Kodak in Rochester, NY, also with American LaFrance Fire Trucks in Elmira, NY, then being hired full-time with the IBM Corporation. He began a 25 year career with IBM, first in Endicott, NY and transferring to IBM in Boca Raton in 1981. Randy went on to work for Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, Georgia and finishing his career with Sikorsky Helicopters in Jupiter.
Speed was the love of Randy’s life from motorcycles, cars, boats and model boats and he was the Past President of the PBRC Boaters.
Randy is survived by his son, Phil of West Palm Beach; and his brother and his wife, Dennis and Susan Bederka of Sun City Center, Florida and his feathered friend, Paco.
A Memorial Gathering will be from 6 – 7:30 pm with the Memorial Service beginning at 7:30 pm on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of U.S. Hwy. #1 & N.E. 15th Ave., Boynton Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Randy’s memory.
