Ramon “Ray” Reyes, age 79, passed away in his home on August 24, 2021, surrounded by loved ones.
Ray was born January 28, 1942, in Puerto Rico. When he was a small child, his family moved to New Jersey, where he grew up. For many years Ray enjoyed working as the General Manager for Meadowlands Car Imports of North Bergen, (the only Lamborghini dealership in the tri-state area at the time.) In 1992 Ray met Theresa Pflueger, whom he married in 1994. They moved to Florida in 2000, where Ray worked for Emblematic doing purchasing and sales until he retired. They spent 21 of their 27 years together enjoying the warm weather and Florida sunshine.
Ray loved all wildlife and enjoyed sitting on his patio or under his mango tree birdwatching, feeding the squirrels, and even spotting lizards & iguanas. He was affectionately known as “The Mayor” by all the neighbors as he would sit outside wave & talk to everyone. He enriched many lives as neighbors come & went, started families, and their children grew into adults. Ray was a member of Son Life Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fellowship hour after service; loved getting his cake & chatting!
Ray loved doing anything that involved family. It didn’t matter what or where they were, as long as he was with family, he was happy. Ray was a devoted uncle, who organized neighborhood pool parties over the summer when nephew Brandon came to visit, and also spent time babysitting infant nephews and niece Martin, Daniel & Catherine when sister-in-law Fia went back to work. He also loved his exotic birds, Io, Luna & Harpo, and his little dog Corky.
Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Theresa, his two sons, Raymond & Michael, two granddaughters, brother Charlie, sister Iraida, “in-laws” Catherine, Clara, Fia & Dan, Charles, many nieces & nephews, especially Monica, Brandon, Martin, Daniel, & Catherine.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Son Life Lutheran Church, 9301 Jog Rod., Boynton Beach, FL 33437. Time for viewing and offering last respects will precede the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M.
