PHYLLIS ROBERTS McCLUNG
Age 78 of Lantana died suddenly April 15, 2015 while visiting family in Indiana. Phyllis was a member of Gateway Community Church in Boynton Beach. She was active in bowling leagues in Palm Beach County for many years and was the first woman to bowl 300 in tournament bowling in Palm Beach County on Feb. 2, 1991. Phyllis retired from Rolling Green Elementary School in 2005 as a Media Clerk where she enjoyed reading and working with children.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Sherri (Bob) Daughtrey of Lantana, Cathy (Wil) McDade of Lantana; 4 grandchildren, Jason (Nicole) Daughtrey, Christy (Justin) Anderson, Brittani Meyer and Keagen McDade; 3 great grandchildren, Aaliyah Anderson, Hailey Daughtrey & Jordan Anderson; 2 sisters, Betty Higginbotham, Charlene Meier and brother, Les Hensley. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Jim McClung in 2006, daughter, Pam McClung in 1976 and brother, Charles Roberts in 2004.
Friends will be received from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Ave., Boynton Beach. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Brannon of Gateway Community Church officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Beach Memorial Park.
