PHILIPPE OMER JOANISSE
77 of Delray Beach passed away surrounded by his loving family on October 5, 2014.
He was born to the late Hérve and Alida Joanisse, May 26, 1937 in Clarence Creek, Ontario Canada. He lived with the late Lyn Neate in Ottawa, Ontario Canada before relocating to Florida in 1978.
Phil was an avid golfer and loved sports. He worked as a Senior Vice President/Director of Construction for Minto Communities Florida. A lifelong employee, Phil’s career with Minto started in Ottawa in 1956 where he worked on many successful projects. In 1978, Phil relocated to Florida as one of the original team members in Minto’s expansion into the United States. Phil played a vital role in the growth, success and quality construction Minto is known for. His dedication was second to none and he has touched the lives and careers of hundreds of Minto employees. Phil retired from Minto in 2013 after 57 years of service. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
Phil was extremely loving and proud of his five children, Suzanne (Gilles), André (Mariola), Lucie (Tom), Linda (Kevin) and Lisa. He is also survived by his six grandchildren Mathieu (Stephanie), Patrick, Joshua, Brigitte, Eric, Megan and 3 great grandchildren Jacob, Chloe and Emma. He will be missed by his siblings Jeanine, Jules, Jean-Charles (deceased), Claire (deceased) and Michel.
A special Thank You to Dr. Rubenstein, Dr. Loutfi, and Dr. Beede for their special care and all the wonderful staff at Edgewater Estates – Oak Bridge Terrace in Boca Raton, Florida.
As per Phil’s wishes, there will be no public funeral services. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Lung Associations.
