PETER P. ?POPPA? DE LUCIA Age 90 of Boynton Beach passed away May 31, 2013. Peter was a veteran of World War II joining the US Army at age 20. He fought at the Battle of Normandy, and 4 other campaigns. He was a policeman in Norwich, Conn. for 14 years before moving to Florida in 1967 with his loving wife, Edith. He retired from Mounts Botanical Gardens at age 80 as a master gardener. Peter was passionate about his family, baseball, umpiring and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Edith; 6 children, Pat, Sherry, Tom, David, Sandra and Denise and predeceased by his daughter, Dorothy in 2005; other surviving children, Peter, Irene, Kathlene, Nick & Tommy; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and faithful dog Molly. Peter was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Ave., Boynton Beach followed by Military Honors and Burial at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth.
