Peggy Lillard Brown died of natural causes six months before her 89th birthday. She was born on July 8, 1924 to Hoyt L. Lillard and Grace Blair Lillard of Benton, Tennessee. She attended Virginia Intermont in Bristol, Tennessee. Upon completing her preparatory education she attended Gulfport College for two years prior to completing her undergraduate education at University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Tennessee. She married Clyde D. Brown in 1946 after Clyde had completed his military service in World War II, including three years in a prisoner of war camp in Germany. They had two children, Mary Elizabeth (Beth) and C. David Brown, II. Her loving husband, Clyde, predeceased her in 1979, and her daughter, Beth, passed away in 1980. She was active in the Boynton Beach community for many years, including teaching first grade at St. Joseph's elementary school for over ten years. She was an active participant in the YMCA, the Tree Hut and the University Women's Club in Boynton Beach. One of her life long passions was travel and meeting people throughout the world. While Clyde was in the military, they lived and traveled extensively through Europe. After retirement, she continued traveling throughout the world and visited all seven continents, bringing memories and memorabilia from all. She is survived by her son, David, and his wife, Wanda, together with her two grandchildren Teresa and Kristin, all residents of Orlando, FL. Friends will be received on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 from 9-11 AM with a Funeral Service at 11 AM at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Ave., Boynton Beach.
