Patricia Joos Hawf, 78, of Boynton Beach, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend,
affectionately known as “Pat” or “Aunt TT,” peacefully passed away in her sleep on October
18, 2024.
Born March 16, 1946, in Queens, NY, to the late August and Doris (Pfingst) Joos. Pat
attended Massapequa High School, and later Cosmetology School to become a
hairdresser. Pat worked at Ann-Dor Beauty Salon in Boynton Beach for over 20 years.
She later earned her Bachelor of Science in Christian Social Ministries, and joined her
husband, John Michael Hawf, “Mike,” in ministry, where they traveled to Indonesia,
Singapore, Ukraine and other Asian countries. They both ministered as counselors to many
as they served on the staff of Trinity Church International under Pastor Tom Peters.
Pat and Mike moved from Boynton Beach, in 1998, to Claremont, New Hampshire.
There, they established The Lighthouse Church and ministered tirelessly until Mike
passed away in 2008.
Soon after Mike’s passing, Pat relocated to Boynton Beach where she devoted herself to
Bible study and her family. Pat continued in her passion, teaching the Word of the Lord to
others, in addition to caring for her growing grand-family. Included was her passion for
cooking, and celebrating family milestones with her gourmet meals. Her young
grandchildren spent countless hours celebrating birthdays and holidays with their “Aunt
TT”. Each occasion came included with her amazing wit and sarcasm, but there was always
time for a lesson in life, when needed.
Patricia is predeceased by her parents, August and Doris Joos, her husband, John Michael
Hawf, and her niece Kimberly Herbs.
She is survived by her sister, Veronica (Joos) Herbs and her nephew, Joshua Herbs. Her
nieces, Rebecca (Matthew) Ott, and their children, Alexandra and Lucy Ott, Patricia Herbs,
and her daughter Ocean Thomas. She is also survived by her late niece, Kimberly Herbs’
children, Sebastian and Malaki Slattery. Her stepson, John Michael (Melissa Vargas) Hawf,
and grandchildren Hillary and Mikeveli Hawf-Vargas.
