MONICA SHARELL LESTER
was born into a large family being the youngest girl of nine siblings on March 24, 1979 in Boynton Beach, Florida to Ella Bell Lester and the late Lura Lee Lester.

Monica always had a drive to obtain the most out of life. She earned her high school diploma from Santaluces High School and as a young adult attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida. In the summer of 2002 alongside her sister Belinda and niece Keisha, she would graduate with a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice.

After graduation, Monica elected to move back home to West Palm Beach where she furthered her education and obtained a degree in Paralegal Studies from South University. Monica received numerous certificates along with becoming a Notary Public with the State of Florida.

Monica’s presence was always captivating and brought light into any room, whether it be felt through her acting at Lake Worth Playhouse or heard across the room through her infectious laughter. Monica’s celebration for life was depicted through her worldly travels, charity walks, continual advocation for sickle cell awareness, and imprinted memories through her passion of photography. Monica or as we grew to call her Moe, loved spending time with her family, close friends and cherished her many walks with her Beloved four legged “son” Smokey. She was eclectic, just like her very own boutique of many fashions.

Monica’s love was infectious, as she enjoyed attending Christian conventions, meetings, and praising Jehovah. She walked in the light of positivity, encouragement, and prayer with the beat of her favorite scripture; Isaiah 41:10: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Monica leaves behind by her siblings: Melanie (Terry) Carter, Christopher Lester, Yvonne (Michael) Jackson, Jewel Lester, Angelia Lester-Killingsworth (Deceased), Aungrel Lester, Lura Lee (Nichola) Lester, Belinda Lester- East, and Henry Lester. Monica has thirty-one nieces and nephews that she adored along with a host of close friends, cousins, aunts and uncles she cherished deeply.

Last but foremost, Monica leaves behind her loving mother, Ella Bell. “She is my heart and she’s beautiful inside and out...ever since birth she’s been my fav gal and I never wanted to leave her side. As a child I would hold onto the end of her dresses so I could be as close as possible to her.”

“He was the only man I’ve ever been sure of, depended and counted on 100% and no matter what I knew he’d be there. My daddy was one of a kind. See you in paradise daddy.” -Moe Joe
