Mildred Faye Hardy, 86, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, of Boynton Beach, Florida. Born 8/12/26 in Newbern, TN as one of 11 siblings. Mildred worked for the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge, TN; after marrying Charles L.White (deceased) moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she worked in the steel industry. Later she married Thomas Hardy (deceased) with whom she built a successful Century 21 real estate business in Florida. Mildred enjoyed being active in her community, weekly card games, served on the homeowners board as activities coordinator and treasurer. She was active in her church, and her fellow parishioners looked forward to their Sunday lunch with her. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Charles and Rae White, grandchildren Sara, Alyssa and Charles J. White, step-daughters Cathy Courson, JoAnn DeGel, Sue Schuble, Connie Jennings, and her brothers and sister in laws Roy and JoAnn Morris, Robert and Sally Morris, Margie Morris, and Marvin Morris. Mildred was an independent strong woman and even in the face of her many health challenges always maintained a positive attitude and was a good friend to all. Friends will be received from 1-2 PM with a Funeral Service at 2 PM on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Ave., Boynton Beach.
