MICHAEL LEE WEST
age 75 of Boynton Beach passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019. Michael began his career as a Pressman for Control Data of Merced, California moving on to Plant Manager then Human Resource Manager at Uniform Printing & Supply Company of Tracy, California. Michael then became Plant Manager for Kimkraft West of Stockton, California (home Company in Erie, Pennsylvania). In 1989 he moved to Florida to become Vice President of Sales for Forms Unlimited, Inc. of Boca Raton and ended his career at age 58 as Chief Financial Officer for Laser Substrates, Inc.
The most rewarding career Michael had was as the Sacristan for Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lantana for 5 years. Michael was also a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Holy Spirit Council #11669, President of the Legion of Mary at Holy Spirit, a volunteer at the Hospice of the Palm Beaches (TrustBridge)and was a Veteran of U.S. Navy.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Carmen; 5 children, Ryan West (fiancé Wendy Robles), Matthew West, Jennifer West-Mann (Christopher), Michelle Gilmore and Elizabeth Licata (Evan); 6 grandchildren, Valerie West, Allison Cramer, Max West-Mann, Randy Gilmore, Shasta Gilmore and Brandon Rounds; 2 brothers, Nicholas West (Judy) and John West; sister, Marsha West; godfather of 2, Emily Cortez and Janelle Jones.
Friends will be received Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of U.S. Hwy. #1 & N.E. 15th Ave., Boynton Beach. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1000 Lantana Road, Lantana. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Michael’s memory.
