MICHAEL J. D’ANGELO
Born May 5, 1926 in New York, Michael peacefully passed on to his eternal life in heaven with our Lord, Jesus Christ on October 16, 2019. His three daughters were by his side, and his wife, Phyllis held his hand. Michael had a full and wonderful life. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Iona College in New Rochelle, and a Master’s Degree from NYU, during and after his service in WWII, where he received 3 medals. He started a career in teaching, but later found much success as a State Farm Insurance agent in Queens, New York for many years. Michael enjoyed ballroom dancing, great food, good wine and fine scotch. He captivated friends and family with his jokes and stories, especially those requiring Irish or Italian accents! During baseball season he could be found glued to his TV watching the Yankees and rattle off statistics like a jeopardy champion!
Michael was predeceased by his first and second wives, Ottavia and Maria, and is survived by four adult children, Michele, Mark, Lorraine and Marlene, ten grandchildren and a great granddaughter. He is also survived by his wife Phyllis, her two married daughters, Claudia and Danielle, 5 grandchildren and a great grandson.
His winning smile, sharp intellect and wit, snappy attire and affable personality will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. RIP dear husband, father, cousin and friend.
The Family requests a donation to one of Michael’s favorite charities-St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in lieu of flowers.
