MAUREEN ESPEUT-BLACKMON
Maureen Espeut-Blackmon, affectionately known as “Mo” and “Donna” made her peaceful transition from this life on a December 23, 2022.
Born on January 29, 1956 in Portland, Jamaica, Mo attended Alpha Academy in Kingston and later became a pre-trained Teacher at Birnamwood Primary. She pursued higher education and attended Sam Sharpe Teacher’s College in Montego Bay where she attained her Diploma in Education. She did her Internship at Norwich Primary School where even today, many of her students still remember the positive impact she made on their life.
She later migrated to the United States in 1985 and in 1986, she became the Caregiver to the Rouah family. She spent 7 years with them and helped in raising and caring for the children who loved her wholeheartedly.
Maureen continued in the field of Caregiving for several more years and eventually became a Care Manager with Serenity Care Management in 1995 until she retired a liitle over a year ago. She can be described as one who is fiercely loyal to her family and friends and cared deeply for others.
She loved and served the Lord and was a member of the Palm Beach Church.
Maureen will be lovingly missed by her daughters Odette and Heather, her sisters Patricia, Yvonne Shand and Yvonne Passley, her brothers Ronald, Selwyn, Glen and Melbourne, her nieces Gaia, Lori and Francine, her nephew CJ, her grandchildren, sons-in-law, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service celebrating the life of Mo will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 11:00 am at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home in Boynton Beach, Florida. Burial will follow at Palm Beach Memorial Park.
