Matthew Vialva, lovingly known to us as Uncle Emery, was born to Epifanio and Clara Vialva (both deceased) as the fifth sibling in a large family. Growing up surrounded by brothers and sisters shaped the steady, grounded man we came to know and love.
Matthew shared a devoted and joyful marriage with his beloved wife, Thelma Vialva (deceased). For 61 beautiful years, they walked side by side through life’s many chapters and adventures in Trinidad, Canada, and the United States. Their love was steadfast, faithful, and enduring. A partnership built on loyalty, laughter, and unwavering commitment.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Muriel, Leo, and Una. He is survived by his siblings Yvonne, Patricia, Victoria, Pascal, and Albert.
Brother-in-law of: Hazel-Ann Vialva, Sharon Vialva, Ronald Perez
Matthew was uncle to many: Bianca, Andre, Lisa, Natasha, Marc, Hayden, Annmarie, Monica, Dawn and many others (please forgive us if we have missed anyone). He also leaves behind numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Beyond his family, Matthew was blessed with special friends and co-workers who became family in their own right. Throughout his career in Finance, Accounting, and Compliance, he earned the respect of colleagues who admired his integrity and dedication. His church communities in Texas and Florida, along with his extended family and close circle of friends, will remember his sharp wit, generous spirit, and steady presence.
Matthew lived a life marked by purpose, humor, and heart. He was a man of few words but meaningful ones. He loved deeply, worked diligently, and found joy in the simple blessings of everyday life. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
His life will be celebrated Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at10:00 am at St. Joseph's Episcopal Church 3300 South Seacrest Boulevard Boynton Beach, FL 33435.
