Mary Shortley

MARY RAE SHORTLEY Age 74 of Boynton Beach passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013. She had been a resident here for 37 years coming from Braddock, PA. Mary was a dedicated caregiver and licensed in Pennsylvania. She started working in Braddock Hospital at the age of 13 and also practiced in Florida. She was the daughter of the late Catherine Loy and Raymond McDonough. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Thomas Shortley in 1994. Survivors include her son, Brendan Michael Shortley; daughter, Erin Kathleen Shortley; brother, Raymond Lee McDonough of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Theresa Knobloch of Buffalo, NY; grandson, Tyler and numerous other relatives. She was a caring soul and unending fountain of love, the best mother a child could have. Friends will be received from 6-8 PM with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Ave., Boynton Beach. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 643 St. Mark Place, Boynton Beach.
