MARY R. “BETTE” GEEKIE
Age 91 of Boynton Beach passed away on April 4, 2015 at home with her family by her side. She will always be remembered for her smile, her laughter, her ability to make friends with everyone she met and her love for her church and her God. Throughout her life, Bette faithfully served the Lord, her church and her family. God blessed her with a beautiful voice and we have no doubt that she was singing in the heavenly choir on Easter Sunday. While living in Parma, Ohio she was active at Ridgewood Methodist Church and the Lady Elks. While in Boynton Beach she continued to serve at First United Methodist Church where she rarely missed a Sunday singing in the choir and participating in their Dinner Theater productions. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, James Geekie and is survived by her children, Sara Snyder Ackermann, Robert Geekie, Gayle Kalski, 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of happiness, helpfulness and the enjoyment of family and friends.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 11th at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 101 N. Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL with Pastor Clark Edwards and Rev. Robert Hahn presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Music Fund at First United Methodist Church or Hospice of Palm Beach County.
