Martin J Jarsky of Boynton Beach FL passed away peacefully on April 27, 2024. Martin was born on July 22, 1941 in Flushing, NY. He is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Marion Jarsky and brother Paul Jarsky.

He is survived by his sister MaryAnn Jarsky Hogan (Vinny), brothers Michael Jarsky (Penny), Steven Jarsky (Linda) and his loving extended family of 9 nieces and nephews, 15 grand and great-grand nieces and nephews and numerous loving cousins.

Martin grew up on the family Garden Center in Whitestone, NY where he developed his love of horticulture, landscaping and working with plants and trees.

Initially, Martin took a different education path, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in literature from Manhattan College, Riverdale, NY. With a fellowship to Vanderbilt University he continued studies in literature and to teach. He took full advantage of the opportunities to immerse himself in the education, art and music world of Vanderbilt University.

After a few years of teaching, Martin returned to his first love of horticulture and to pursue a degree in landscape design at Syracuse University. After school he was employed by the New York Botanical Gardens where he completed the Student Horticulturist Program and worked as a Garden Specialist. Martin then moved to South Hampton, NY to open a landscape business specializing in flower garden design.

In later life, Martin found joy in frequenting family events, traveling to National Parks, botanical gardens, and historical points of interest. He moved to Boynton Beach, FL in 2010 to aid his parents and soon became an active member in the activities and friendship of his Leisure Lake community.

Martin explored the area’s cultural and arts scene as well as the multiple gardens, parks, and natural areas. He took great pleasure researching and scheduling itineraries for visits of guests and escorting them around South Florida.

Martin leaves behind a great many friends and family who were touched by his generous spirit, his concern and empathy for others, and his appreciation for the beauty life has to offer.
