MARK MENDOZA
Mark Mendoza, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025. Born in Manila, Philippines, Mark was the youngest of ten children. His journey from the Philippines to the United States as an exchange student, where he pursued his passion for English literature at San Beda College.
Mark's career in the publishing industry took him to New York City, where he worked as an editor. It was in Flushing, New York, that he met the love of his life, Remi, at a bus stop. Their love story blossomed into a 50-year marriage.
Mark will be remembered for his love of books, fashion, Broadway shows, pop culture, tennis, the Mets, and always asking for the dessert menu. He had a vibrant spirit, a unique sense of humor, and eloquence that touched everyone who knew him.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Remi; their two sons; Miko, a Chemical Engineer with an MBA at Kelloggs and Nick, a Cornell graduate and food scientist at Coca-Cola, were the pride and joy of Mark's life. He was also a proud grandfather of three beautiful grandchildren: Mele (3 years old), Hudson (19 months), and Madison (2 months). He is also survived by his brother, George, and his sister, Clavell, along with many dear friends, whom he kept in contact with despite his health challenges.
Mark’s legacy of love, dedication, and zest for life will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
