It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark A. Finkelstein, who left us
suddenly on Feb 13th, 2025 at the age of 65. Mark was a beloved husband, son-in-law, brotherin-law, cousin and friend, whose kind and gentle personality, sharp wit and funny personality
touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

Born on January 11, 1960 in White Plains, NY, Mark grew up in nearby Yonkers, NY. He
graduated from Roosevelt HS, and went on to earn a bachelors degree in Business
Administration from SUNY Albany. He spent his career in sales and sales management, and was
enjoying retirement at the time of his death.

Mark was known for his unwavering dedication to his family and friends and as a loving,
devoted husband. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.
Through his warm smile, gentle spirit and funny sense of humor, he made a positive impact on
their lives.

A lover of nature and of all sports, Mark enjoyed bowling, golfing and chilling in his backyard
pool. He loved watching sports on TV, and was a big fan of the “scarlet & grey” OSU college
football team and especially “them ‘damn Yankees.” As an adult in NY, Mark spent several years
pitching for The Bombers, a local hardball team. Mark was also a proud member of Moose
Lodge #1798.

Mark leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 28 years, Shelly Ann, mother-in-law Rosemarie,
sister-in-law, Darlene, dog Potsie, cats Victor and Houdini and many extended family members.
He was predeceased by his parents, Norma and Seymour Finkelstein, uncle Robert
Geissensetter, father-in-law George V. Johnston and brother-in-law George V. Johnston III.
He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing
him.

Rest in peace, dear Mark.

May your legacy of love, kindness and devotion to family live on in all of us.
