Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints (Psalm 116:15). Mark Joseph Baniewicz entered eternal life on July 9, 2014, after two years with cancer. Born in Philadelphia September 10, 1951, Mark attended Archmere Academy, earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Drexel University and an MBA from RIT. Mark joined Xerox in 1970 as a co-op and retired in 2012 as Vice President of Enterprise Service and Support. Mark’s organizations received multiple J.D. Power Awards for Excellence in Technology Service & Support, one of the customer service industry’s most prestigious recognitions. Mark participated in international leadership training and practiced Servant Leadership in all areas of life.
Mark served as President of Fairport Vince Lombardi Youth Football, Fairport Little League Coach, in various church offices and ministries, and performed mission work in Jamaica, Mexico, Haiti, and Africa, as well as the city of Rochester.
Mark is survived by his wife of forty years, Janice, sons Mark (Misty), Matthew, and Brian (Whitney), grandchildren Hunter, Morgan, Aubrey and Brooke, brothers Michael, Joe and Paul, sister Debbi, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and colleagues are invited to a memorial service at Browncroft Community Church, 2530 Browncroft Blvd. on Aug. 1 at 11:00am. The family will greet friends beginning at 9:30. Donations in Mark’s honor can be made to Guitars for Glory, www.guitarsforglory.com , or Child Evangelism Fellowship of the Finger Lakes, www.fingerlakescef.org (Jeff Michaels). Flowers will be received at the church.
