Dr. Marion Weems
passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on March 7, 1927 in Boynton Beach - the first child of Dr. Nat Weems and Truly Fain Weems. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Cecile, and by his sister, Julie Monahan. Dr. Weems worked as a family practice physician in Boynton Beach for his entire career, and served on the Bethesda Hospital Board for over 40 years. He lived a long rich life, enjoying his passion for travel and nature, water skiing and sailing, and growing orchids. He is survived by his siblings, Nanie Weaver, Anne Michael, Fain Weems, Dudley Weems and Meg Weems, his children, Kathy Schlagal, Robert Weems, and John Weems, his grandchildren, Gavin, Bradley, Julien, Emma, Carter and Anika, and his grand-dogs Stella and Duncan.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 22, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, 101 N. Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach with Rev. H. Clark Edwards officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethesda Hospital Foundation, First United Methodist Church of Boynton Beach or The Nature Conservancy in Dr. Weems’ memory.
