Marion Dittrich (Markovich) passed away in Lake Worth, Florida on December 28, 2024 at the age of 99. Marion was born on April 12, 1925 in Passaic, New Jersey; the youngest daughter of nine children born to Samuel and Julia Markovich. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Richard F. Dittrich in 2007, and her parents Samuel and Julia Markovich from Garfield, NJ, her brothers Steven, Michael, Edward, John, George, and Nicholas and her sisters Anna Columbus & Margaret Suhai.
Marion worked in the Counseling Services Office at the County College of Morris in New Jersey. She lived in Succasunna NJ until her retirement. Upon retiring, she traveled extensively with her husband throughout North America and Europe. Upon Richard’s death, Marion moved to the Pine Ridge IV community in Greenacres, Florida. Marion was very active with the Pine Ridge IV community and leaves behind her many PRIV friends.
Marion was a strong and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by two sons, Richard Frank Jr. (wife Lois) of Agawam, MA and Brian of Atlantis, FL; one daughter, Ruth Umholtz (husband Dale) of Greenacres, Fl. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brittany Progulske (husband Kacy) of Agawam MA, Wesley Dittrich of Killington VT, Richard J. Dittrich of Southwick MA, Tyler Dittrich of Killington VT, Christopher Dittrich (wife Takki) of Bangkok Thailand, Caroline Robreno (husband Andrew) of Alexandria VA and Michael Umholtz of Middle River MD. Her great-grandchildren include Kaleb, Brady, and Julian of Agawam MA.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 PM Friday, January 24, 2025, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Lake Worth. Private interment services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
