Marie Rose Strychasz

STRYCHASZ – Marie Rose (nee Tirone)

Jan. 9, 1933 - Sept. 25, 2025, Age 92, devoted wife of 66 years to the late Louis Strychasz. Cherished mother of Marian (Paul) Giordano, Susan Collins, Elizabeth Strychasz, Louise Nelson, Gloria (Miles) Gilbert; treasured grandmother to Paul (Maggie) Roth, Michael (Stephanie) Roth, Brandon and Anna Nelson, Ashton and Brooke Gilbert; and great-grandmother to Cosmo Roth. Also survived by many caring nieces, nephews, and their children, including Josephine (Bill) Lundin, with whom she was especially close. 

Born in Buffalo, NY to resilient Sicilian (Rocalmuto) immigrant parents, Marie was the youngest and last to pass. Her family owned and operated Tirone’s Niagara Market on Buffalo’s west side where she worked, along with her siblings (Gasper, Tom, Agnes and Carm), until it’s closing in 1980. 

Family and faith were the heart of Marie’s world. She found immense fulfillment in her role as mother, and grandmother, showering her family with love and creating lasting memories. In the last months of life she found joy in meeting and regularly connecting with her only great grandson. 

Our Mom will be remembered for her welcoming spirit, uplifting laugh, and endearing love. A mass of celebration will be scheduled at a later date in Boynton Beach, Fla.
