Marcus Joachim
On February 14, 1986, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Marie Michel and Jacques Joachim gave birth to their first son Marcus Joachim. While in Haiti Marcus attended school and was an alterboy at the Catholic Church his family worshipped. He was outgoing and brought great joy to his parents, who nicknamed him Mitch.
In 2002, the Joachim Family moved to Boynton Beach, Florida. Marcus was taught to be respectful, to work hard to achieve his goals and the importance of family values. Marcus was educated in the Palm Beach County School System and graduated from Atlantic Community High School in 2006. While attending Atlantic Community High School he met his fiance’, Suzlene Michel and together they had four handsome sons.
With core values instilled in him, he grew into a kind-hearted, robust young man and set out to conquer the world. He became a great leader and provider for his family. Marcus also believed in giving back to his community and would randomly bless neighborhood children with a pair of shoes and clothing.
In 2011, he gave his life to Christ and joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Lance Chaney. He loved attending church with his family. Marcus had a strong belief and often quoted Philippians 4:13, “I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me”.
With his business-like mind set Marcus was employed in the banking industry. He joined the HSBC family in June of 2018 as a Personal Banker in Boca Raton, Florida. He embraced his role and was respected by customers, colleagues and management. He was also enrolled at Palm Beach State College to further his education in pursuit of becoming a licensed radiologist.
Marcus was vibrant, dapper, and charming. His infectious personality touched so many that he came in contact with. His greatest joy and inspiration was being the devoted father of his four amazing little boys (affectionately known as the Joachim Brothers). He was truly their super-hero! He took pride in being a positive role model for his young boys. Marcus believed in living his best life. Outside of his busy schedule he enjoyed playing basketball, traveling, listening to music, shopping and simply spending time with his family and friends.
Marcus transitioned to glory on Monday, April 8, 2019, as God reached out his hand and whispered softly, “Follow me soldier for your mission on Earth is complete. You are hereby assigned to an eternal Heavenly mission”.
Although Marcus may be gone from this Earth his kind spirit, love and memory will be in the hearts of many. Continuing his legacy are his devoted parents, Jacques and Marie Joachim; fiancé, Suzlene Michel; sons, JaMarcus, Martavious, SuMarion and KaMar Joachim; brothers, Stanley Joachim, Roody Joachim and Anouse Joachim; sisters, Linda Joachim and Misterna Joachim; god-mother, Ilphide Jeremie; special cousins, Sherly Jernie and Herby Jeremie; god-daughter, Lauren Allonce Saintil (Rose & Gaby); extended family, Nelson Michel, Spen Fatal (Caline), R. Ann Michel, Angela Dean-Wright (Bernard), Krystina, Alyssia and Breyah Wright and a host of sorrowing family members and friends.
Friends will be received at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Avenue, Boynton Beach from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 19, 2019. The Funeral Service will be held at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 900 North Seacrest Boulevard, Boynton Beach, Florida at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 20, 2019.
