Madeline Muggeo, age 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 while at Boynton Beach Rehabilitation Center in Florida. She was born May 4, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York to Dan and Antonetta Perriello. She married Joseph Muggeo on September 10, 1950, in Brooklyn. She gave birth to two sons Louis and Daniel. She was widowed at 39 and dedicated her life to raising her sons and providing for her family. She worked at the Green Point Savings Bank in Flushing, NY first as a junior bank teller and progressed through the ranks to mortgage servicing officer managing a diverse team of 40 people that truly considered her a friend and confidant.
Madeline was truly a fighter, living a difficult life with no husband or partner for 50 years while enjoying life’s simple pleasures; talking with -friends and family, snacking, and spending time with son Daniel, daughter-in law (more like a daughter) Leigh Anne and especially her grandson Joseph. Nothing made her happier than watching him grow.
Madeline spoke her opinion and you always knew where you stood with her. At the same time, she could never do enough for her friends and family. Stricken with multiple medical problems she lived the last four years with her son Daniel’s family in their home.
She is survived by her sons Daniel and Louis, daughter-in-law Leigh Anne and her beloved grandson Joseph Conner.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Madeline touched are invited to the Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & N.E. 15th Avenue, Boynton Beach, Florida from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. with service following to reminisce, grieve, celebrate her life and support each other. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Episcopal Church, 3300 South Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL 33435 or the American Heart Association (
