Lucille Marie Schiner of Boynton Beach, FL passed away peacefully at her home on December 13, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, son Eric, brother Julian and grandson, Daniel. She leaves behind her daughter Lynn Floyd (Doug Floyd), son Kirk Schiner (Jan Schiner); grandchildren Chas Limauro, Cori Schiner and Nick Schiner. She is also survived by her sisters Carol Martinenza, Ginger Bruno, Pat Dieterle, and Anita Corcoran; and many loving nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her longtime, loving companion Dennis Jackson of Boynton Beach. She had many close friends and neighbors at Colonial Club Condominium. Lu, as she was known to her family and friends was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She moved to West Palm Beach in 1969 with her husband and children. She worked in the insurance business and eventually became a small business owner of Cleaning Systems, a fire and water restoration company. Upon her retirement she settled in Boynton Beach and contributed much to the local community. She was a long time member of the Bethesda Auxiliary, serving as a Board member as the Director of the Bargain Box in Delray Beach. She also contributed and served as a board member of the Colonial Club Condominium Association. Anyone who attended in any Colonial Club activity knew her to be an enthusiastic participant. She was surrounded by a wealth of friends and family who loved her dearly. Lu's real strength came when it concerned others. She was an unselfish woman who put everyone's needs before her own, especially when it came to her beloved family, Lynn, Kirk, grandchildren and her four sisters ("the girls") with whom she shared a special bond. Her favorite pastime was being with her friends, reading, playing rummy cube, or just spending time conversing. Her passion was contagious. She loved to learn and couldn't wait to read the papers and always willing to share her knowledge. Her command of English was outstanding. There wasn't a crossword she couldn't complete. At board meetings, serving as treasurer, she was confident and prepared in identifying Wilma hurricane recovery and reimbursement funds. She said what had to be said, like it or not. It was easy for Lu to say the truth because that's all she knew. Her records were implacable. Anyone who attended ANY Colonial Club activity knew her to be enthusiastic, spunky and a petite package of dynamite, always surrounded by a wealth of friends and family who loved her dearly. If you knew Lu you knew life. ...... A Memorial Mass will be held on January 12, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Delray Beach. A gathering to Celebrate her Life will follow at Colonial Club Condominium Clubhouse for family and friends at 1 pm. Donations may be given in her name to the Bethesda Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
