Llewellyn "Lew" Fernald

LLEWELLYN K. FERNALD ?LEW? age 94 of Delray Beach passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Lew was born June 10, 1918 in Washington, DC to the late Clarence & Nellie Keene Fernald. He moved from Nashville, TN to Fort Lauderdale in 1959, to Boynton Beach in 1971 and most recently to Abbey Delray. Lew was a retired IRS Agent and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Boynton Beach, Boynton Masonic Lodge #236, F. & A.M. and the Order of the Eastern Star. Lew was preceded in death by his first wife of 65 years, Emily in 2007. He is survived by his wife, Jean Harden-Fernald; 2 sons, Robert Glen Fernald & his life partner, Chuck Rhode of Arlington, VA and Raymond Thomas Fernald & his wife, Becky of Richmond, VA; 2 granddaughters, Brittany Ann Fernald of Washington, DC and Amanda Vaughn Fernald of Richmond, VA; grandson, Christopher York of Lovettsville, VA; 4 great-grandchildren, Abigail, Ben, Thomas, and Jaxon all of Lovettsville; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Fernald of Falls Church, VA. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church of Boynton Beach with Rev. Don Corbit and the Boynton Masonic Lodge officiating. Those who wish may make donations to the First United Methodist Church, 101 N.
