LESTER ALLEN McKINZIE

Lester Allen McKinzie, 91, of West Lafayette, Indiana, formerly of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at his home.

Lester was born on May 30, 1934, to the late Richard and Edith (Hurt) McKinzie. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was awarded three bronze stars.

On November 3, 1956, he married the love of his life, Edna Sparger. They were married for 56 years before her passing on October 23, 2013.

Lester was a lifelong member of both the American Legion Post 164 in Boynton Beach, FL, and the VFW Post 1154 in Lafayette, IN. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. Lester was always willing to lend a hand to help those in need. He was deeply devoted to not only his work but also his family. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Surviving are his children: Patricia (Marvin) Dennison, Colleen “Coke” Romeril and Robert “J” (Rene) McKinzie; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Along with his wife, Edna, he is preceded in passing by his daughter, Beth Bowers, son, Clifford McKinzie and his parents.
