KEVIN OATES
Age 74 of Boynton Beach passed away January 8, 2018. Kevin was an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Boynton Beach and was a veteran of the Unites States Marine Corps. He retired from IATSE Local #52, New York, NY and IATSE South Florida #500. Kevin was a former Eagle Scout. Kevin and Madge enjoyed cruising and he loved babysitting his 2 grandchildren.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary M. (Madge) Oates; daughter, Maureen Erin (Ryan) Edney; son, Hubert Joseph Oates; 2 grandchildren, Liam Joseph and Colin Patrick Edney; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Decelle and Mary Ann Naughton.
Friends will be received from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Avenue, Boynton Beach. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10935 South Military Trail, Boynton Beach, FL 33436. Burial with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL (Lane #3).
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to St. Thomas More Catholic Church (stmbb.org) or the Florida Diabetes Camp ( www.floridadiabetescamp.org ) in memory of Kevin Oates.
