Karl Robert Gustavsson, 69, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away suddenly on May 5, 2021, after complications following an accident.
Karl was born in Rockville Centre, NY in 1951. He graduated from Northport High School, N.Y. in 1969, and then served in the U.S. Army and was Honorably discharged.
Karl worked as a carpenter for many years, and later worked as Head Custodian and Maintenance Supervisor for the Commack school district until his retirement.
He enjoyed motorcycling on his Harley-Davidson, boating, fishing and hunting with bow and arrow, and he was a master of BBQ cooking, smoking and grilling. He was also actively involved with the American Legion Post 164.
Karl was a merry, big-hearted rogue who loved dogs and children; and cried at sad movies. He will be sorely missed.
Karl is survived by his brother Kenneth and sister Christina, nephews Justin, Andy and Mahir, his nieces Annika, Erica, Dawn, Theresa, and Deniz, plus other family members and naturally, his many friends.
Karl is preceded in death by his parents Karl and Margaret, and brothers James and Randolph. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The Disabled American Veterans.
