Juanita Torres

June 18, 1942 – February 3, 2026

Juanita Colon Rivera, born on June 18, 1942, in Camuy, Puerto Rico. From the very beginning, Juanita carried within her a quiet strength, a deep faith, and a boundless capacity for love that would shape every life she touched.

As a young woman, she journeyed to Chicago, Illinois, in the 1950s, embracing a new chapter far from the island she called home. It was there that she met the love of her life and married Rafael Torres. Together they began building a family rooted in devotion, resilience, and unity. Their first three daughters—Nora, Margie, and Doris—were born in Chicago, each one a testament to the love and partnership Juanita and Rafael shared.

Seeking a more peaceful place to raise their growing family, Juanita and Rafael moved to Delray Beach, Florida, in 1969. There, their family blossomed even further with the births of Juanita, Maria, and Martha. Six daughters—each unique, each cherished, each shaped by the unwavering love of a mother who gave everything she had to her family.

Juanita was a devoted wife to Rafael for 62 years, a nurturing mother, and a faithful servant of Jehovah. Her dedication as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses guided her life, her choices, and the compassion she extended to others. Her faith was not simply something she practiced—it was something she lived, every day, with humility and grace.

Though she gave birth to six daughters, Juanita’s heart had room for many more. She became “Mom” not only to her sons‑in‑law but to countless people in the community. Her love had no boundaries, no limits, no conditions. She welcomed, she comforted, she embraced—always with warmth, always with sincerity.

Juanita is survived by her beloved daughters:

Nora Rossodivito (Solomon)

Margie De Leon (Luis)

Doris Rangel (Ian)

Juanita Dunn (Jay)

Maria Seda (Roger)

Martha Torres (Joe)

She was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 8 great‑grandchildren, each one a source of joy, pride, and laughter. She adored them deeply, and they will carry her love forward for generations.

Juanita’s legacy is not measured in years, but in the lives she shaped, the kindness she offered, and the faith she lived with unwavering conviction. Her memory will echo through her family, through the stories told, the traditions kept, and the love shared. It will live on in every grandchild she held, every person she comforted, every heart she touched. Though we feel the weight of loss today, we also celebrate a life beautifully lived—a life of service, of devotion, of love without limits. Juanita’s memory will endure for decades to come, carried by all who knew her and all who were blessed to be loved by her. May her example continue to guide us. May her love continue to strengthen us. And may her memory remain a light in our hearts.
